We are joining Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this year as a part of a group created by formal employees of Martin Finegold “In honour of Marty”.
Marty, as we all called him, was our Boss, a serial entrepreneur, philanthropist and family man.
He was a former Goldman Sachs Banker, who started his own companies, Kensington Mortgage Company and Cambridge Place investment Management, as well as several website based endeavors coving news and sports fandom.
Marty was an active
member of the community and gave generously to charities, was the founding
Sponsor for Basildon Academies, and helped to turn around the struggling
school.
He was an avid reader, and had an extensive personal library – the sheer volume
of information he absorbed daily was truly amazing.
He pushed himself to achieve and encouraged others to succeed, yes he expected a lot but he also gave a lot – many people can point to Marty as having had a positive effect on their personal and/or professional lives.
Marty was diagnosed with a Sarcoma, and although he fought hard and remained positive, he sadly passed away in March this year at the age of 57, leaving behind his wife and three children.
We understand how devastating a cancer diagnosis can be, but with the incredible work done by Cancer Research we are all fighting back against cancer.
There are so many incredible causes out
there, but for 2015 this particular charity is very close to our hearts.
We are running 5k to raise money so that people like Marty will have a fighting
chance to beat this terrible disease.
