Story
On the 27th of October, a week before his 25th birthday, our beloved son killed himself.
He was a strong, healthy, generous, kind, funny, loyal and talented man, who had everything he needed to succeed and be happy, save one thing. His Autism. He knew he was different, and spent his whole life trying to find his place and his way in the world. Ultimately, although we thought he was on that path to being content and happy, there was more going on in his head than anyone could understand, and he could not face the future that he saw for himself.
We want to help be part of a world that can help people who are not neurotypical find their way, and that is why we would be grateful if you would consider donating to the National Autistic Society. We will continue to use this page as we move forward, and run it with the commemoration page at jamesrodd.much loved.com
We will continue to fund raise, advocate and talk about our son, and the challenges of feeling like a round peg in a square hole, and the darkness this can bring into the lives of young people and those who love them.
On the weekend of April 16/17 will recreate the 100miles cycle he did in 2014 for his Duke Of Edinburgh. The details, route, and further plans will be on that page.
