Story
The Huracan Foundation is a UK registered charity with a global network which I've chaired for 3 years. We support teacher leaders in very tough spots around the world, funding their early stage football projects. These create breakthrough educational opportunities for children, alongside addressing social issues including teenage pregnancy, early marriage, child alcoholism, gang involvement, gender bias and mental health.
We have 8 live projects in Uganda, Mexico, India and the UK with previous locations including Peru, Nepal, Colombia and Ghana. Girls in particular are even more disadvantaged in these areas, with all our projects having a strong female focus including some amazing teacher leaders.
The Huracan Foundation all started from a very average Sunday football team which our son Ben played for and was founded by Henry May. It's one of the very best things I've been involved in and if you'd like to help, that would be really kind.
With thanks,
Ian
