Story

Ian was well known for his kindness and generosity, often going above and beyond for those he loved as well as those he'd known only briefly.  He had fully embraced life in Hertford, having arrived in 2019, and was all set to enjoy his retirement; chasing after his granddaughters, ringing bells at church and pootling around country lanes in his classic motor.  His sudden passing has been a blow to all who knew him.  We have chosen Hertfood to receive donations in his memory to reflect his giving spirit and love of his adopted town.

HAFGB is the parent charity for Hertfood, the Hertford fresh food bank, which looks after local families who struggle to afford fresh fruit, veg, dairy and meat. At the moment they deliver over 150 fresh bags every week, but demand is increasing every day.  Hertfood are currently looking to set up Heating Hubs so that, as energy bills are set to soar, elderly people can switch off their heating at home and spend the day somewhere warm and friendly.
