Story

On May the 6th 2020, Jim Gallagher aka Rory tragically died due to the Covid-19 virus. He was aged just 61.

Jim was a larger than life character and will leave a hole in everyone’s hearts who knew him.

During his time on ICU at Darlington hospital he received not only the best medical support and intervention possible but he was also cared for by truly outstanding Nurses and Doctors.

We received fantastic support daily from the ICU Family Liaison Team at the hospital. They were my lifeline providing updates every day and provided vital support to me.

Their compassion and empathy towards us at this time will remain with us always - they did everything they possibly could and at the end of Jim’s life the Nurses ensured I got to say goodbye to him by sharing a final message.  They held his hand until the very end so that he was not alone...

In truly sad times, their kindness will never be forgotten. Ever.

Thank you

Sheena and all the family xxxx
