I am running the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise awareness of the devastating effects brain diseases have on patients and their families, especially children. Patients with such Rare Diseases still suffer from an unacceptably low diagnostic rate which negatively impacts their treatment. Using robust genomic research we can start to better understand the basis of these diseases and their biological mechanisms which is the first step to developing targeted therapeutics.
