In June 2015 I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia and have been treated ever since at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. The Fountain Centre is based in St Luke's Cancer Centre at RSCH and is a small corner of the hospital that always has a welcome smile, a cup of tea and a comfy sofa to rest on between treatments or consultations or whatever really. They offer a wide range of complimentary and supportive services to RSCH patients and their partners or carers and as such have been really helpful to me. They make what is otherwise a fairly daunting place into a more pleasant experience making the whole process more manageable - and if you end up spending hours or even days a week in a hospital cancer centre then you will know how welcome this respite would be.

I'm in a good place. My cancer is in remission but the treatment leaves me very tired and often unable to work. I was booked a while back to play two concerts of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No 2 and a modern commission by Doug Cuomo to mirror this piece. The Bach is extremely challenging and requires one to be match fit and sadly I cannot guarantee that I am, so I pulled out of the concerts. However, on reflection I decided that I would play the Cuomo as Doug and I had discussed the piece and what would work best but I would do it on the condition that I would donate my fee to The Fountain Centre and be able to take a collection on the day. 

That was yesterday and it was very successful with £400+ cash raised from a small audience of about 200 as well as my fee and another member of the orchestra who VERY generously offered the same. So I am on my way to £800 already but would love to bump it up to £1000. Hence this page! Please help me get to my target if you feel you can.
