Story
To combat the difficult times the elderly have faced recently, our lovely Kerry is fundraising for Home Instead Charities through the visual transformation from having an unruly mane to becoming the #PurplePrincess. The incredible Elan Hairdressing has agreed to partner with us on this project and are sponsoring the dyeing of Kerry's hair. We encourage everyone to get involved and raise funds so we can give back to the elderly who have given so much for us.
At Home Instead Southampton, we are fundraising to bring fun and joy back into ageing. Home Instead Charities work to fund the little things that make the biggest difference in an older person’s life. Some of the biggest struggles they have had to face are included in the Age UK conducted study finding that since the pandemic, 34% of elderly folk reported feeling more anxious, 26% can’t walk as far as they used to, 20% finding it harder to remember things, 18% feel less steady on their feet, 64% feel less confident taking public transport, and 26% feel less confident spending time with their own families. We can only imagine how devastating the impact of fear to see your own loved ones can be. Which is why it is so important to us to get the elderly out and about, having a great time again, and feeling safe whilst doing that.
With your donations, we can "help fund activities including day trips to the seaside, stepping out at a vintage tea dance, to gardening and golf lessons. It is never too late to learn something new or revisit a favourite former pastime or hobby. Our charity exists to fund the little things that can make a big difference to older peoples lives."
So, help us to bring joy into the lives of these incredible
heroes - donate and join in today!
