Story
Note: I am self funding the cost of the trek, therefore every penny that is raised through this page will go directly to Jersey Hospice Care. Thank you in advance for any sponsorship, it means a lot to me.
My Kilimanjaro climb is confirmed!
After a year delay due to COVID, Kili is confirmed to be taking place and we will be travelling to Tanzania on 23 June 2022.
Since the postponement, I've been keeping busy, and even managed to clock 2,482 miles in 2021! Here are some of the things I've been up to, along with photos in the updates section....
The Jersey North Coast Challenge! Approximately 20 miles over the beautiful north coast of Jersey, starting at St Catherine's and finishing at Grosnez. Extremely treacherous and tough terrain with lots of ups and downs - perfect for Kilimanjaro training! Completed - 18 May 2021, 19 March 2022 and 15 April 2022
22 June 2021: The National Three Peaks Challenge! Climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdown) within 24 hours. 4 hour 49 min climb of Ben Nevis (10 miles), 3 hour 26 min climb of Scarfell Pike (6 miles) and 3 hour 39 min climb of Snowdon (with 2 bus journeys of 6 hours and 4 hours in between). Climbing in sun, wind, rain and snow, and in the daylight and pitch black - this was a great adventure!
November 2021: Hiking in Utah: Not an organised event, but we did a road trip in Utah and hiked Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon.- spectacular!
Lots of other hikes and runs, as can be seen in my posts below!
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far, and I look forward to keeping you updated with my adventures!

In June 2022, I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Jersey Hospice Care, a charity very close to my heart.
Why Hospice? As you may know, in 2019, my Nanny (Grandma) was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a very rare and aggressive cancer of the brain, with extremely low survival rates. Nanny sadly passed away in May 2020, after a long and brave fight with this awful disease, and during her final months, was under the care of the tremendous team at Jersey Hospice Care, who also supported me and my family during this difficult time. Words cannot thank the Jersey Hospice Care team enough, and this amazing charity was the obvious choice for my fundraising efforts.
A bit about the challenge..... Kilimanjaro is a snow-covered mountain located in Tanzania. It is 19,341 feet high, giving it the title of the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free standing mountain in the world!
The trek is expected to take 6 days and we will be camping along the way up. It is going to be both physically and mentally challenging, with long days trekking across often hilly and rough terrain with the added challenge of the high altitudes increasing the risk of altitude sickness.
