What is a zoo

What does it mean to you

To me it’s the animals that I love to see

My fave is the sloth just lazing in his tree

The monkeys are fun as they swing in the sun

The penguins and meerkats always look such fun

Every year I would go to the panto and xmas lights

But these are just a few of the zoos delights

You see the zoo is so much more

Help me help them PLEASE I implore

The animals still need to drink and eat

& the zoo its conservation tasks to meet

The keepers still do their work every day

They cannot let covid get in the way

They love so much the animals they care for

So now is the time WE need to stand up and do more

Help us protect this regional treasure

So it can give many more generations pleasure
