IRFU Charitable Trust – France Rugby World Cup 2023 Charity Walk · 15 September 2023

The IRFU Charitable Trust supports seriously injured rugby players who have suffered catastrophic injury including severe spinal injury leaving them paralysed and in need of round the clock care, serious head injuries or other life changing injuries. The Trust maintains regular contact with each injured player and their families. We help with locomotory expenses, specialised equipment (such as lifting equipment, beds, or wheelchairs), home alterations, medical expenses, nursing and caring costs, motor vehicles etc. This is not an exhaustive list but it gives an indication of the kind of help provided by the Trust. Over the past few years the average payment for assistance has amounted to about €300,000 per annum. There are 36 players in Ireland supported by the Trust in this way. To fund this assistance the Trust relies upon regular substantial grants from the IRFU itself, together with generous donations and gifts. Thank you for your support, we really appreciate it.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be walking over 100 kms from Bordeaux to Paris during the Rugby World Cup this September to support the IRFU Charitable Trust whom support those who have been seriously injured playing the game of rugby.

When you donate on my page you will be in with a chance to win an official coveted Ireland rugby jersey which has been signed by the Irish Team and has a "Certificate of Authenticity" from the IRFU.

Any and all donations are very much appreciated - the raffle for the jersey will take place in July 2023, before the Rugby World Cup 2023 starts - what a fantastic prize!!!

ALL proceeds that I raise will go directly to the IRFU Charitable Trust.

Many thanks for supporting this charity.

Hilary
