On Sunday 25th October, Steph, Ali and Nat will be taking part in the Stroud Half Marathon for Higgy's Heroes.
We are part of a team of almost 150 runners who will be running for the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre (MSRC) and the amazing Alistair "Higgy" Hignell. We have all signed up quite late in the day (6 weeks ago!) - so it won't be an easy run. Your support would be much appreciated!
Higgy was one of the most talented sporting all-rounders of his generation, winning four Blues for Cambridge at rugby and four at cricket. He made his England debut against Australia in Brisbane, the first of 14 caps at full-back before retiring through injury in 1979. He joined the BBC as a sports assistant in 1985 and went on to carve out another successful career in broadcasting before retiring last year.
Alastair was diagnosed with MS in 1999 and is Patron of the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre (MSRC) and actively campaigns to raise more awareness of MS.
We want 2009 to be the year when Higgy's Heroes really make their mark, so please donate to the team today!
