Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Hope in Mental Health Project (supported by Albany Road Baptist Church, Cardiff) is a project close to our heart. It aims to help patients admitted to the Adult Mental Health Crisis Unit at Llandough Hospital, Cardiff feel cared for and supported by the wider community at a difficult time in their lives.

We do this by providing individual handmade bags filled with toiletries for patients in the Crisis Unit who may be admitted in an emergency without such practical necessities.

It all started 2 years ago when someone with personal experience of the Crisis Unit brought to our attention this need, which many of us would never know about. We have worked with the Unit’s staff to ensure what is provided is useful. Both staff and patients have greatly appreciated these gifts which help provide dignity and well-being in a bag.
