The Annapurna circuit is a 260km trek through mountain ranges in central Nepal. I aim  to run / walk this distance around the streets of East Dunbartonshire (and maybe beyond if Covid restrictions allow) over a period of 3 months. 

I am doing this to raise money for the EMMS International Christmas appeal “Every Girl Matters”. EMMS International works to serve and support some of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable communities (Malawi, Nepal & India) through developing palliative care, reducing the impact of disease and responding to healthcare emergencies with our partners. It has been my privilege to become involved with this charity as a trustee in the past year.

In rural Nepal girls often have to drop out of education to care for loved ones with chronic illness. The “Every Girl Matters” UK Aid Match appeal provides the opportunity to ensure people get the quality palliative care they need, close to home, in hard to reach areas of rural Nepal, allowing children (especially  girls) who usually carry the burden of care, to return to school and pursue their education.
