Story

My name is Hector and I work for Ashinaga UK. We support talented but disadvantaged orphaned students to study at world-class UK universities, develop their skills and ideas, and then return home in order to enact meaningful change.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on charities, with the cancellation of thousands of events and an estimated loss of £4 billion in funding. Ashinaga UK depends on income from fundraising, so I am playing my part in raising some essential funds.

Despite enjoying swimming, I massively dislike swimming in cold water. Whilst many enjoy the shooting pains and burning sensation of stepping into a cold abyss, I prefer to be reading a book in the bath.

If you believe in providing educational access and empowering young leaders who want to be change-makers for their communities, please donate and share my challenge. At the very least, please enjoy watching the pain I am going to put myself through over 20+ minutes.

Finally - 100% of the money raised is going to cover student costs. And all donations that you make will be matched by a partner, so for every pound you donate we receive two pounds, or even more if you are a UK tax-payer and are eligible for gift aid.
