In memory of Clay Hearing Dog
We train amazing hearing dogs to transform the lives of deaf people

Story

Hearing Dogs are assistance dogs and they give life-changing independence, confidence and companionship. They are trained to alert recipients to important everyday sounds and danger signals.

Maggie and Clay attended over 500 talks and presentations and was the first assistance dog to wear an assistant guide’s sash at Canterbury Cathedral!http://www.thisiskent.co.uk/Clay-broke-wall-silence/story-13687485-detail/story.html

Sadly Clay became ill in November 2011 and though he bravely fought on, he died in the summer 2012.http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonline/news/2011/december/29/hearing_dog_clay.aspx

At Hearing Dogs we are fundraising to help train and care for a replacement dog and others like him; every penny raised counts.

Even if you didn’t know Clay, with your support we can raise a total of £12,400 which will pay for vital ‘soundwork’ training. Can you help?

If you belong to the Rotary, Lions, WI, church group, or similar, or are involved with a school or a Scouting group, you can book a speaker and find out more about these amazing dogs and the difference they make.

Can you organise a coffee morning and sell ‘pup cakes’ or take a challenge, either on your own or with colleagues to help fundraising?

Update: Maggie reached her original target of £12,400 which was then the cost of advanced soundwork training, and the dog trained in Clay's memory is now working for a young lady in Kent. Thank you so much to everyone who kindly donated to make this possible.

Maggie is now continuing with her fundraising efforts and has extended her target to £22,400. When she reaches this target it will enable a Hearing Dog to be named after her good friend and Rotarian David Bowley who worked so hard when he was District Governor to raise money for Hearing Dogs which resulted in her Clay.

When Maggie has reached this new target any additional money raised will be used to train more life-changing Hearing Dogs like her wonderful Clay and his successor, Jamie
