Story
I have been experiencing this epidemic from my apartment in China since mid-January. Now life in China is starting to return to normal, still with many health precautions in place, but here we can see the end.
In these times of isolation I have been drawing a LOT. I have been developing Haz Mapz, but now I see an opportunity to spread some joy and to #justbekind through art, and help RAISE MONEY for AGE INTERNATIONAL’S COVID-19 campaign.
- By donating any amount above £1 I will send to you a digital download copy of my ‘COVID-19 COME ON’ piece. This piece is based on the Chinese phrase “加油/ jia you”, which means “Come on”, we can do it. And I have reflected this in the languages of just some of the countries severely effected by the virus.
- By donating more than £5 I will in addition send you a digital download Haz Map of your choice from the following list:
- USA
-South America
-Africa
-China
-UK
-Italy
- Australia or New Zealand
- California, Texas, or Florida
[JUST COMMENT ON YOUR DONATION WHICH MAP YOU WOULD LIKE ALONG SIDE YOUR COVID-19 COME ON MAP, AND AN EMAIL ADDRESS. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SHARE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS, CONTACT ME ON INSTAGRAM @hazmapz or email harriet1708@gmail.com and I’ll arrange to send]
I know many countries around the world, do not have infrastructure, political stability or health care investments to cope with COVID-19. I therefore want to do my (however notably small) bit to help and I hope you can join me through spreading the love of art, to also help too.
I appreciate that at this time you’re watching your £/$/¥/€. I haven’t worked for 3 months now! But I hope that some of you can find some way to help this cause.
I am wanting to donate this money to AGE INTERNATIONAL. A charity of UK origin, is now helping elderly people in developing countries. They are currently running a COVID-19 campaign which will help to reach the most vulnerable people in the following ways:
- - Raising awareness to limit the spread
- - Strengthening humanitarian response teams
- - Training healthcare workers
- - Sourcing prevention suits for staff
- - Distributing hygiene kits
- - Identifying hospitals with intensive care units and isolation facilities.
The coronavirus effects vulnerable groups in harsher ways. So whether you sympathise for that elderly relative or neighbour, want to give something back to those health care workers who work so hard to keep us safe, or just want to do your bit whilst your isolating at home, PLEASE help this cause and mostly spread kindness and happiness in a world that is now fraught with complications and uncertainty.
