Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A huge thank you to everyone for helping us meet our target. The first Hart Felt Film Night took place on Tuesday night- everyone had a great time! We will close the JustGiving page for now-watch out for news of the next one.
My son Ian Hart died in 2011 after a titanic struggle with addiction. He was a lovely big personality with so many interests and passions-including films.
As a family we come together each year to remember Ian in the winter, around his birthday when it is cold. We know Ian slept rough sometimes and benefited from homeless charities in Edinburgh, Bethany was one. We remember him by watching his favourite films, sharing food and laughing together, sometimes outdoors.
This year we launched the Hart Felt Film Nights in partnership with the Bethany Christian Trust. If this works we will grow the idea into a film festival for homeless people in the winter. This year we started the the Blues Brothers at the new Bethany shelter in Stenhouse.
People who are roofless were invited to come together in advance of the Care Shelter opening for the evening to enjoy the first Hart Felt Film Night with live music, companionship, specialist services, the movie, food and beverages. We are grateful to St James church in Leith and the Grassmarket community project for their help getting our first film night off the ground.
