Story
Hey! I'm Harry - I'm a 25-year-old from London and I'm a survivor of sexual abuse. The pain and loneliness of being a male survivor is like nothing else. Which is why when I found support through SurvivorsUK, my life was changed.
Out of the 76,000 boys and men who are abused every year, only 4% will speak about it to anyone. Of the few who do, it takes decades to build the courage.
£10 could contribute to a one hour counselling session for someone accessing our services on a sliding scale (meaning they pay only £5 per session)
£20 could support a survivor to access one of our tailored group sessions
£50 could support one of our expert counsellors to Supervision
£125 could enable 20 survivors to access a trauma support workshop while on waiting list for our core therapeutic work.
IF YOU CAN'T DONATE - HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN DO!
1. Email the following copy to 10 family members / colleagues / friends who have disposable income:
"Dear _______,
I hope you've had a great week. I've come across this cause which I'm really passionate about and I hope I can count on your support. The following JustGiving page is by a man called Harry Hitchens - he's doing a 24 hour sponsored silence to raise money for male survivors of sexual abuse.
The charity does life saving work for men who are abused and assaulted and if you can spare any money at all, I'd hugely appreciate you considering a donation.
Thank you."
