Story

About Harrison

Harrison Holmes was less than 12-months-old when he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Born weighing just one pound Harrison faced many medical conditions including septicemia, a brain hemorrhage and chronic lung disease. Defying the odds he has grown up into a confident, bubbly and inspirational 18-year-old and is using his own experience to try and cheer up others. His mum Jo Holmes has published a series of videos in which Harrison performs some of his favourite songs from The Greatest Showman. In one video Harrison sings A Million Dreams which is performed by Ziv Zaifman, Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams in The Greatest Showman. Dressed up in some of his favourite fancy dress outfits from the hit film Harrison’s rendition brought a tear to the eye of many who have watched his videos."One night he was singing a song and I said 'that's amazing' and he decided to record it to send to his Nanna," his mum said."Then he said 'can I make everybody happy?' and it just went from there."Because Harrison's lungs were damaged as a result of being ventilated for two years, he and his family are under strict isolation. He was able to leave hospital as a toddler when the community raised £10,000 in a week to buy a ventilator to be installed at the family home."He's so close to his family so this is hard for him," Mrs Holmes."He's keeping us all going by making us smile.
