In memory of our beautiful daughter Amélie, myself (Amélie's mom), Joel (Amélie's papa) and Auntie Rosie (Amélie's auntie) are running the Manchester half marathon on 15th October 2023!
Amélie would have been 3 years old this August. She would have been running around with her furry brother Ben, keeping our lives very busy and making lot of memories together as a family! She isn't here with us physically but she is always on our minds, in our hearts and the reason we keep going. She is so loved and missed and will stay with us forever. She has taught us a love that we had never felt before. The love for your child doesn't lessen if they are no longer here, it get's stronger and stronger. Joel and I love our little girl so much.
We are choosing to raise money for the charity ‘Teddy Rose’, which is a charity based in the Midlands who provide support to bereaved parents. As Amélie was born unexpectedly in Birmingham whilst I was visiting my family, I didn't have a 'hospital bag' with me including all the stuff I had got ready for Amélie. Teddy Rose provided us with a care package, which had been carefully thought through and had lots of toiletries in. Amélie was given a teddy bear and so were we. Amélie cuddled hers and we cuddled ours during our time in hospital together. Amélie was also given two blankets, which she was snuggled up in, snug as a bug. When the time came to say goodbye, Amélie kept the teddy bear we had cuddled and we kept the one she had cuddled. Amélie also kept one of the blankets and we kept the other half. These are so so precious to us.
Without Teddy Rose, we wouldn't have these special things that help us connect to our little girl. We are so grateful that Teddy and Rose's parents started this amazing charity, after having to say goodbye to their two precious babies. What kind, selfless humans beings. I remember when we first lost Amélie, l read about looking for light in the darkness and Teddy Rose are a shining beam in the darkness.
Please donate anything you can, if you can, to help support this incredible charity.
