Story

Please give what you can and share this, your donations will help so many hens!

My name is Amy, and I love hens, I love all animals and believe we shouldn't treat them the way we do in this world. I have been volunteering for BHWT for some years now and just love what they do. So many people want what is best for animals but sometimes when we don't see what goes on behind closed factory doors, we don't know what we need to change, and that is millions of lives. The truth is that chickens are one of the most abused animals on this planet, and the egg industry really isn't what we imagine it is. So many hens are kept in cages their whole life (and kilked at 18 months by the way), they don't see sunlight, they don't feel the ground beneath their feet, they can't stretch their wings and they just can't act naturally. This is wrong and we can do better.

Not only do BHWT rehome these precious souls and give them a chance to live their true lives, they also educate young people, the industry, and are setting up a hen hospital/learning centre so that vets will be skilled up to help our feathered friends. With your help, we can help more hens!

So, wing walking..... This is scary, ok? It's no secret that I, like many, suffer with anxiety. In the not too distant past it was difficult for me to even travel in a car and so truly, tying myself to the top of a plane with my face flapping in the wind is not something I signed up for lightly! I want to do this though as of course it will be something amazing for me, will raise money for the wonderful hens but also I want to spread the message far and wide. We CAN make better choices by buying free range eggs or by not buying them at all. We CAN make better choices by checking packaged food ingredients. If it doesn't say free range it is from a cage. We CAN reduce the demand for these awful cages but not eating Mr Kipling or Aunt Bessie's.

Less demand, less suffering. Simple!

Will you help me to help hens? Even 50p if that's all you have would be bloody brilliant. Just a few pounds can help save a hen's life.

If you want a name of a hen or a person to fly with me then let me know and I will write it on my boiler suit, they can fly in the sky with me. Email amymotherofhens@gmail.com

Thank you.
