Story
On the 28th April 2017 my dad Alan Richardson passed away peacefully at St Benedicts hospice. He spent the last 8 weeks of his life there being cared for by the fabulous multi-disciplinary team. His care was outstanding and the patience and support offered to us his family was fantastic too, until the very end.
Before his illness, dad spent much time with the northern archeology group researching Roman history and local finds. In recognition of this, (and being inspired by Robson Green during lockdown) my partner Chris and I will be walking 84 miles along the Hadrian's wall path from Bowness on Solway, Cumbria on the West coast, past wallsend, to finish up at Arbeia Roman fort in South Shields, on the North East coast, the town where dad was born. We will be doing this at the end of May 2021 over 3.5 days, with a stop off at twice brewed on the night of dads birthday raising a glass to him.
