Who are we?  We are a team based at Herbert Smith Freehills, a law firm, in London fundraising for charity.

What are we doing?  Our team is trying to travel 10,000 miles collectively in June to support our London Office Charity Partner, CLIC Sargent, who work with children and young people with cancer .  Individuals will be trying to walk as far as they can each day (recording their steps over the whole month with a pedometer), while others will be taking part in dedicated group challenges involving cycling, rowing and running machines.  The miles travelled by each team member in June will go towards our target.

Why are we doing this?  We think CLIC Sargent is a really fantastic cause, which is why they were voted by our London staff as our official charity partner for 2014-16.  CLIC Sargent provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help young cancer sufferers cope and get the most out of life.  CLIC Sargent are there from diagnosis onwards and aim to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement.

In particular, we are trying to "Go The Distance" in this challenge to raise awareness of the fact that children and young people with cancer travel an average of 60 miles, up to five times a week, for hospital treatment.  That's a huge distance, and we want to do our bit to help make this easier for young cancer patients.
