The H.D.C.F Cancer Research Page

Cancer is something that effects 1 in 3 people. The majority of us have had loved ones who have gone, or are going, through this awful ordeal.
My grandmother, Grace, was diagnosed with throat cancer
when I was just a young teenager. She was a rock in my family, always
knew the right thing to say, always knew how to make things better.
Sadly however, there's not always "a right thing to say" or a "way to
make things better" when it comes to this horrible disease. When she
passed it felt as if my heart was torn in two, and I was convinced it
was the worst pain I would ever feel. I was wrong.
May 2013,
just after my 19th birthday my mother was diagnosed with terminal
cancer. She and I were always close, I loved her as a best friend, as
someone I could rely on no matter what, someone who would drop
everything to be there for everyone who needed her, but most of all, the
most loving and amazing mother.
I could literally spend days writing how great she was, or sharing funny stories to portray how kindhearted and fun loving she was, but that's not what I'm here to do. I will say this however, when she passed everyone more or less that knew her said the same thing: "Your mum always put others first" or "Your mum really cared that other people were happy" that's what I'm here to do, keep her spirit alive and continue the good work she was unable to complete.
