Story

Hello potential generous sponsor,

This summer, on June 22nd, I shall be attempting to swim the English Channel from Dover to Calais as part of a five-person relay team. It's something I've day-dreamed of doing for a long time, and I can't wait....

My lovely team mates are: Claire, Ali, Steve and
a 13 year-old swimming ace called Maddy (She's our secret weapon). The crossing is about 25 miles, and the rules for Channel relay swims are that each of us must swim for an hour at a time on and on in rotation until eventually we reach France, where we get out and shout hooray. We probably aren't going to break any records for speed. (Unless we let Maddy do it all on her own... hmmmm... there's a thought.). But we have masses of enthusiasm and NOTHING will stop us from getting to the other side ... except may be a freak wave... or sea sickness... or swimming into a floating poo... or getting run over by a ferry... or being eaten by killer jelly fish.

We're raising money for a charity called The Haven Project that helps orphaned children in Asia. One of our team, Claire, is heavily involved and has seen first hand the positive effects of their work among children affected by drugs, diseases, natural disasters, wars, child prostitution and heaven knows what else, and I'm very proud to be doing my bit to help them. The money we raise swimming will be used to build a brand new orphanage in Thailand. My target is £1000, so I hope you don't mind me asking for a donation.

THANK YOU!!!
