I’m running the Bath Half Marathon 2022 and doing it in boots and a weighted vest to raise money for Bath and North East Somerset Carers Centre.

A close friend who works with this charity had this to say about it:

“The issues carers face are that of social isolation, financial difficulty, physical health concerns to name a few. The biggest issue that carers resonate with is the guilt they carry around caring and the need for emotional support is vital to allow an unpaid carers a life alongside caring. Often carers do not even identify as being a carer so not only is our support service vital to help carers when they reach out, our recognition team are there to encourage more carers to refer to our service. We have a wellbeing team to ensure carers are looking after themselves, providing peer support groups, cafes and breaks so that carers have time for themselves to recharge.”
