SJEHG are the only charitable provider of expert eye care in the Holy Land and have hospitals, clinics and outreach services in the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem. For over 140 years they have been treating patients regardless of ethnicity, religion or the ability to pay.
The flagship hospital in East Jerusalem handles many of the most complex eye cases, with patients referred from hospitals and clinics across the West Bank and Gaza.
St John Eye Hospital has a large outpatients department, specialist eye units, operating theatres and 24-hour eye emergency services.
It is the first Palestinian hospital to be awarded the prestigious Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. JCI is a US-based organisation that sets rigorous global standards for patient safety and service quality in healthcare facilities worldwide.
