Story
Gregg was diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer in December 2020, just 3 days before Christmas. His cancer journey was pretty brutal and he underwent so many treatments, medications, side effects, appointments, scans and tests. Yet he never, ever, once complained and continued to work throughout his various treatments, right up to the last two weeks of his life. He was truly remarkable and has left behind so many happy memories and an incredible legacy in our son.
He was loved beyond measure and our lives will simply never be the same again. It has been devastating, heartbreaking and soul destroying. But….we simply get through one day at a time and don’t look too far ahead anymore.
It goes without saying that the love and support from family and friends has carried us through and continues to do so every single day. In addition, the support and kindness we have had from my company and colleagues @The Football Association and Gregg’s company @Zone Global Pty Ltd has been incredible.
Gregg had fantastic care throughout his illness and we feel very blessed that he always had access to the very best professionals and treatments. This isn’t always the case and people rely so much on the amazing care and support from various charities. Therefore in Gregg’s memory, we would like to raise money for the OPA who support patients and families/carers who are diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer. We are raising money at an event for what would have been Gregg’s 53rd Birthday in November. If you aren’t able to join us but would like to donate in his memory, we would be so grateful. Any amount is gratefully received, we know how difficult times are for everyone at the moment.
Thank you so much to everyone for your kindness, compassion and support.
