Totally unprepared but completely up for the Challenge of Walking the 5K at the Great South Run. Lizzie has been training hard for a European Swimming Competition so no real time for running. We are hoping to join a big team of teenagers with Down syndrome and their friends and family to create a sea of Green to walk around the course to raise vital funds for Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association www.portsmouthdsa.org.The charity is committed to improving lives across Portsmouth, Hampshire and beyond by providing friendship, advice and a wide range of educational services to help young people who have Down syndrome and their families to develop the vital skills they need to success and become valued and productive members of society. Charities have been really hard hit during COVID-19 and Portsmouth DSA is no different. Your support means the world to us.Thank you so much.
Sarah here - I've been training for the 10 mile Great South Run, however due to a calf strain injury in week 9 of my 12 week training plan, I've switched to 5km! Gutted not to be doing 10 miles, maybe next year, but determined to take part nonetheless as part of Team Allen Family. Your help getting me over the finish line would be much appreciated both physically, mentally and in terms of reaching my personal fundraising target! Please donate to this very worthwhile cause! I've known Lizzie all her life, she is the same age as my son Tom. And recently Daisy, my daugher, has been working with Lizzie as her Personal Assistant and loved it! We're all big fans of Lizzie - she is one incredible young lady! Huge thanks. Sarah
