About 200,000 children leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard. These children struggle for the rest of their education and beyond, which has a devastating impact on their life chances. This must change and at Bookmark, we want to make the biggest difference we can, for as many children as possible. We are a new charity with a mission to mobilise a community of volunteers to provide dedicated reading support to children who need it most.
