Story
In January 2019 Graham was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, he was treated by two fabulous gentlemen and their staff, Professor Nariman Karanjia performed Whipple surgery on Graham in Feb 2019 and from March 2019 Dr Dhillon helped Graham through chemo / radiation therapy. BRIGHT is the charity that both are involved with.
As per guidelines, Grahams funeral will be closed but if you would like to donate to BRIGHT in lieu of flowers, that would be fabulous and could help so many other people who find themselves diagnosed with this awful disease.
BRIGHT is a small charity that works to improve the lives of those with Gastro-Intestinal (GI) cancers ( cancers that affect the digestive system). BRIGHT has recently expanded its work to include Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) cancers ( cancers that affect the liver, pancreas, and biliary system).BRIGHT is based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford but covers the whole of the South East of the United Kingdom. BRIGHT aims to provide funds to support ongoing research into improving treatment options and outcomes for patients with GI and HPB cancers. BRIGHT also helps fund the purchase of new equipment for a whole range of GI and HPB cancer treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other advanced treatments. BRIGHT is currently fundraising for a Nanoknife machine for the treatment of pancreatic cancers and GI cancers that have spread to the liver but which are surgically inoperable.
