Resolution Run Edinburgh 2017 · 12 March 2017 ·
Hi.
In June 2015 things were going great for me. I had changed job, was doing a masters degree and never felt in better health.
Then it all changed during a triathlon race - I was doing the bike leg, about 10k in, that I took a severe headache. I got off my bike and collapsed - I was paralysed down the right hand side and couldn't speak - I had a severe brain haemorrhage.
I spent 10 weeks in a variety of hospitals and gradually I've got my life back learning to walk again and speak again, slowly. Now its 21 months since my brain haemorrhage and I am running a 5k event in Edinburgh with my closest friend, Paul, and my wife Mo. They were there throughout my recovery and to be doing it with them is even more special.
I am doing it for the Stroke Association for the help and support they have provided me for the last 21months.For more information check out my blog on my recovery:
