Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are a group of graduates raising money for WFMH - a global mental health charity. Living in a time of such uncertainty and worry, we believe it is now more important than ever to look after our mental well-being and be a little kinder to ourselves. 

Our project aims to encourage others to undertake small changes in their lives in order to promote this message - whether that be a pledge to go for a short walk every morning before starting work or a pledge to read a chapter of your new book everyday. We encourage everyone to get involved and nominate a friend, colleague etc. to be a little kinder to themselves and make a pledge that will hopefully promote the importance of our mental well-being in day-to-day life. Try and stick to your pledge for at least a week!

If you donate, feel free to leave a comment telling us what you pledge! This may help others with ideas of what to pledge.

Our pledges:

  • Ellie - To be less critical of myself. I pledge to write down my self-critical thoughts and think about what I would say to a friend in the same situation.
  • Maddie - My pledge is to ensure that I take an uninterrupted lunch break away from my computer screen each day. I have recently got into the bad habit of eating my lunch at my desk and multi-tasking. 
  • Amrutesh - I pledge to spend a continuous hour away from all types of screens once a day 
  • Anurag - I pledge to start meditation and to take proper breaks in between work
  • Tawan - I pledge to write down one thing I am grateful for each morning. Whether something big or small, it will be something I appreciate and would miss if it was not a part of my life. If there is a time where I can't think of anything this will allow me to observe my day in more detail. 
  • Cormac - after a few weeks of tired eyes, and a sore back, I’m in desperate need of more regular breaks, so pledging to take at least the minimum recommended time away from my computer during the day and a good full lunch break away from my desk! 
  • Mollie - I pledge to take a lunch break away from my screen each day
