We transform lives across the world to end the cycle of poverty & disability

Story

Saturday 17th July

As many of you know, I love a challenge and am always up for the next adventure. As part of my ongoing 70th Birthday celebrations, I am going to embark on my next adventure by doing a Wing-Walk, which has been a lifelong dream of mine.

To make the most of this adventure, I've decided to raise funds for CBM UK, a charity who support some of the most vulnerable people in the world, living in the poorest of places.

The past year has shown me how grateful I am to be living in a wealthy country where I have access to healthcare (and vaccines), my children and grandchildren have been educated and we have been able to work and earn a living.  For many people living in low income countries, this just isn't possible, especially for those living with a disability. And the impact of COVID has made the situation even more challenging.

CBM works in the world’s poorest places to reach those whom others leave behind. Working in partnership with Governments and local partners, CBM creates long-term positive change: treating and preventing conditions that lead to disability and enable people with disabilities to go to school, access healthcare, earn a living and be active in their community.

Please support me and CBM UK to help transform the lives of individuals and break down barriers so that people with disabilities can achieve their potential.
