Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year we climbed the height of Snowdon on the stairs and this year Emma decided she wanted a bigger challenge. Mont Blanc was mentioned but I kept quiet in the hope that she would forget, but no, Mont Blanc it is. All 4,809m of it.....on the stairs.
For those who didn't follow our Snowdon challenge, we basically climb the ten floors of our building a few times a day. We get strong legs and on the way we do some inside camping and campfire nights. This one should take just over two months.
Emma chose our charity for this year. She loves nature and learnt about Europe's last wild forest in the Carpathians. She really wants to raise money towards its preservation so we are supporting The European Nature Trust, who work with Carpathia to save this wilderness. Funds are used to buy forests and alpine meadows, which are then managed for wildlife. Their aim is to create Europe's largest forested National Park. So far they have full protection on 25,400ha, 65,000ha of hunting free zone and 2.9 million trees planted.
