Story
As measures have been being brought in to help limit and delay the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the UK, a lot of people who work in the Performing Arts industry have been impacted financially. A lot of people have had gigs cancelled with very little notice and seen work dry up as the public have begun to steer clear of large gatherings.
Please consider putting some of the money you may have spent on attending these events (theatre tickets, drinks you would have purchased, transport costs etc) towards helping the professionals working in the industry make ends meet during this challenging time.
Having looked at a few organisations, Equity Charitable Trist seem to be the best placed to do this. From their website:
“Since 1989, the Equity Charitable Trust has provided a myriad of industry professionals with educational grants to retrain, re-qualify and obtain valuable new skill sets for those wanting to leave the profession or develop a second income stream.
In addition to our educational arm, we offer one-off welfare grants to industry members who are experiencing hardship, or who need some friendly debt advice or a hand with navigating the benefits system.”
