31 lives are lost everyday to metastatic, secondary breast cancer. On the 12th April 2023 Georgina became one of them after a 3 1/2 year battle with Metastatic breast cancer. She was 46 years old. George never liked the term battle as she never felt like it was a fair fight, and she never thought she was brave because she said she was just doing what she had to do to keep going, but she was brave, she faced treatment after treatment, setback after setback with positivity and a smile. She was even making us laugh into her final hours. In the coming days, weeks and months we'll take stock and the wonderful memories we have and have been shared by others will help us come to terms with our loss. 

One thing we thought we could do was something positive to start raising some money to help others affected by secondary breast cancer so we'd like some money to go to Make 2nds Count. Below is something that G had added to an instagram post she made.

There is no cure, just a limited number of drugs to extend your life for as long as possible. 

I stand by the 31 and the work being done by @make2ndscount and @metupuk to fund research into SBC to find more lines of treatment and to educate and support people affected by SBC. 

More awareness, more research, more action, more funding for SBC.
