Story
This January, the RED community will be challenging themselves to get active every day. Whether running, swimming, cycling or choosing a favourite fitness activity, REDers will be going the extra mile to support themselves and others.Their fitness and fundraising efforts combined with your generosity will help continue Minds life-changing work, ensuring no-one has to face a mental health problem alone.
For my personal challenge I'm banishing drink and taking the grind of running.......I'll be sober for the month and I will also run, or at least attempt to run a minimum of 5Km each day. I'll record this on my, almost inactive, Strava account where you can track my progress daily https://www.strava.com/athletes/geoffosmith
You'll see the massive total of 9 runs in my entire Strava history totalling just over 21 miles so it will be a rude awakening to the New Year which will hopefully serve three purposes:
- Raise awareness form MIND - https://www.mind.org.uk
- Hopefully raise the modest £100 target
- Shed some of the excess weight I've been carrying for far to long now and save a few quid by not going to the pub!
Anyway - if you've read this far, thank you, if you've a spare pound please donate but if not just take a look at the MIND web page https://www.mind.org.uk so at least you've helped me hit at least one of three objectives
Thank you.
Geoff
