December 26, 2020 will mark 3 years since I had a brain aneurysm that almost took my life. Three years that I spent being thankful every single day that I am able to use the word ALMOST.   But I am stronger than almost.

There were so many unknowns for my family when I got sick.  They dove headfirst into a world of uncertainty and unheard of medical information.  Yet, one thing that was crystal clear to them was putting my life in the trust of the incredible Dr. Benitez, director of end-vascular neurosurgery for Overlook.   I am eternally grateful that I was able to receive the best care from Dr. Benitez, the nurses and staff at Overlook Medical Center. They truly gave me my life back. 

When Covid-19 hit, my family was reminded once again of how stressful unprecedented times can be.   But my new found strength, that Overlook provided me, has been able to carry myself and my family through the roughest of days.  I am often reminded of where I was and how far I have come.  I know that Overlook Medical Center continues to give all their patients the strength needed to fight. It is crucial for us to support the doctors and staff working tirelessly during this pandemic.

I owe everything I am today to the amazing work that is done every day at Overlook Medical Center.
