I’m really good at putting others through their paces in my 5 day challenges, so as it’s Generation Women’s 5th birthday I figured there was no better way to mark it than a 5 day challenge of my own!  And what better than to combine something I love (sea swimming) with something I hate (early mornings) and do it in what feels like the depths of winter (or early Autumn, lol). 

I’ve managed to gather a fabulous group of women all willing to take on this challenge

I became aware of Flourish NI and the great work they do when we worked in the same offices.  They help real people dealing with the horrors of being trafficked, human trafficking is not an historic problem – it happens right here.  And it’s probably no surprise that it disproportionately impacts women and children.

Human trafficking is a form of modern slavery where a person is forced into a service against their will – usually forced work or forced prostitution. Control can be physical, financial and psychological.

We are starting the challenge on the 18th October which is anti-slavery day.  We would really appreciate your support. Every penny counts and together we can support people in the following ways…

£50 Could cover the cost of an interpreter at an initial assessment ensuring communication is not a barrier to tailored support.

£100 Could help cover the cost of temporary accommodation.

£200 Could fund an educational or vocational course to improve employability.
