This is the second year that I have decided to take in the Birmingham Half Marathon.

Last year I decided to do the half marathon for the challenge and to get a little bit fitter.  This year after proving to myself that I am up for the challenge I have decided to make it a bit more worthwhile and try and raise a little bit of money for charity. 

My charity of choice is the Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity exists to make things better for the children, their families and the staff who treat them. They provide funding for important equipment, pioneering research and all the important extras that make the hospital so special.

The Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity raises funds for projects and services which fall outside the remit of the NHS. Thanks to the generous support of fundraisers the hospital can provide a level of patient care beyond what NHS funding alone can deliver.

If you could spare just a few pounds to sponsor me for this event it would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a few ways that your donations may be spent:

£10 - could pay for a DVD for a family to watch together during their stay.

£75 - could pay for a distracter to help our young patients with needle phobia.

£645 - could pay for a Glideaway Bed so families can stay together overnight.
