Story
In February 2021, I took part in the Viking March, a challenge that saw me walk 200 miles in one month. The funds raised by your wonderful generosity helped TLG to support children and their families during Covid-19 and meant TLG could continue to be a much needed source of hope during extremely challenging times.
Though things are looking a lot more positive, we still find ourselves in a situation where Covid-19 is having a huge impact on our society and the situation for many is not only unchanged, but is sadly getting worse.
The effect the pandemic has had on our young people in my education centres alone is evident in their behaviour and the feelings' they're sharing. The large gaps in their education due to school closures is now causing many young people to disengage from their education and we are seeing a large increase in referrals. The trauma of living through Covid-19 also means many TLG centres are working with students who have increased anxiety or severe mental health issues that was left unsupported for long periods of time either through funding cuts or sources of support sadly closing down.
To help with the above, I've decided to put myself through another challenge this year and this time I'm rowing. Throughout February 2022 I will be aiming to row 150KM, this is around 5500m per day. For some this is a warm-up but for me its going to be tough and each day potentially missed makes the challenge even more difficult to complete.
Your kindness and support last year was a massive encouragement and really did help me to persevere and to complete the Viking March. I've got a feeling I'm going to need the same this time around and it would mean a lot to me and the families if you would be willing to donate..
Thank You....
