Story
Starting at Loch Lomond and finishing near Aviemore I’ll cover approximately 395km (245 miles in old money). Divided in to a 6.5km swim across Loch Lomond, 320km of cycling spread over 5 legs, 66km of running taking in the Big 10 Munros over 3 runs.
As it’s a bit crazier than my usual escapades and I need a new pair of pants every time I look at the route, I’ll be doing this for charity.
My chosen charity is Scottish Mountain Rescue. Scottish Mountain Rescue is made up of 27 local volunteer-run Mountain Rescue Teams and they rely heavily on donations to keep this world class service up and running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The more time I spend in the hills the more I come to realise how important this service really is. These guys are regularly risking their lives to help others in danger/difficulty, which is quite easy to suddenly find yourself in in the Scottish Wilderness.
Its great cause so please donate what you can! Seeing the donations trickle will motivate me through this ridiculous task I've set myself too!
You can find out more details on my route over at my blog (depthoverdistance.wordpress.com) or on my Facebook Event Page (https://www.facebook.com/events/993414910671638/993414914004971/).
