Cricket Without Boundaries Kenya Expedition 2022

Fundraising for Cricket Without Boundaries

We raise awareness of AIDS through cricket to strengthen communities and fight disease

Story

I'm excited to be leading the CWB project in Kenya in October 2022 after nearly three years gap caused by the Pandemic. I'll be leading a team of 9 fellow volunteers from the UK who are raising sponsorship and giving up their time for two weeks to work with schools across the country. We will be coaching hundreds of young people aged from 6-18, introducing them to the joys of cricket and educating them about HIV prevention, health and equality.

We'd be grateful for any donation you can make to support the work of CWB and to help fund the full time workers of CWB in Kenya.

Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those
with and without the disease.

Kenya is one of the world’s poorest nations, with an average earning of £3 per day. There are many slums and orphanages in Kenya, and approx 6.7% of the population have HIV/AIDS.

Cricket Without Boundaries is working closely with Cricket Kenya to develop the game, having established programmes in Nakuru, Kericho, Nanyuki, and Muranga.
