Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our daughter Elsa passed away from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (or SMA) last April at the age of just nine months old.  For the last few days of her life, we are all cared for as a family at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.  The nurses there provided as much additional support as we needed and the staff were on hand to entertain Olivia, our eldest daughter, and to ensure our brief stay was as welcoming as possible.

Once Elsa passed, she was allowed to stay in one of the two end of life suites where we could visit as often as we wanted and whatever time of day or night.  Since the celebration of life (we don't call it a funeral), Bluebell Wood have supported us as a family, offering counselling and support, Christmas Parties and a memorial service.

This is our chance to give a little back.  So on April 30th 2016 we will be walking as a family around Rother Valley Country Park (about 5km) whilst people we don't know throw paint at us.  Sounds like a fun day out!  We'd like you to sponsor us as little or as much as you like so the Bluebell Wood can continue to support amazing children and their amazing families.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
