Story
In 2018, aged 45, I was diagnosed with breast cancer after a routine mammogram discovered two tumours in my right breast. I was a mother of 3 young children, my youngest daughter being only 4 and a full time Police Officer and this news devastated my entire family.
I was fortunate to be treated by the most amazing ARI consultants who made every effort to ensure I was given the best chance of a positive outcome.
Following a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, it felt like a long road to recovery however, this journey was made so much more bearable with the fantastic support that Friends of Anchor team provide to all cancer sufferers and their families.
In May 2022, two years after the original intended date, I will be joining other ladies on the stage for Courage on the Catwalk and hope to raise awareness and funds to give a little back to this amazing local charity.
