A smile for Christmas …

Christmas is the time that brings us home, together, but what about those who don’t have a place to call home? 

Where the money goes?

The projects funded are all aimed at getting people off the streets and onto their feet again. Some of the money does go to the basics, such as a bed, a shower, a pair of shoes, but the charities we fund don’t stop there as that rarely solves the problem. Over the years StreetSmart has invested in projects tackling the root causes of homelessness - family breakdown, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, poor mental health, the need for education and training.

At participating restaurants during the festive months of November and December, with the benefit of a tablecard or a reference on the menu, a voluntary £1 is added to the  diners’  bill.

On Sunday the 12th December 2021 I will be working as a waitress at ‘Paradise by Way of Kensal Green’ and I will also be doing face painting for the guests. All my shift income including service charge, tips and customer donations will go to those in need. In addition to that, to go extra mile, I will be cycling 100 miles during December.

My heart goes out to those in need, those who don’t have home, a bed to sleep or food to eat… together we can make a difference this Christmas.
