Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I ran the Bungay Half Marathon to raise money for Silas's fund, the Brain Tumour Charity on Sunday 6th April. I was really nervous and it was as tough as I'd feared (specially the sneaky hills at the beginning). I thought I was going to have to walk the last 3 miles because between mile 9 and 10 my left knee went very 'peculiar/painful'. And then I thought how utterly insignificant this was in comparison to what Silas must have been through and I bloody-well ran on. I thought perhaps he might have been watching and he wouldn't have been impressed if I'd wimped-out!
Silas was quite simply an awesome kid who blazed with life during his 11 years. He was a star and he leaves a huge hole in his family. But the impact of his loss has touched everyone who knew him and even those who didn't.
So I wanted to raise a bit of money for the fantastic charity that's trying to find a way to combat the horrid sort of brain cancer that took Silas far too early in the hope that one day, they'll find a treatment that will give hope and even save other children like him.
THANK YOU to everyone who spurred me on in my humble half marathon by the thought we'd be helping more kids like Silas.
