Story
We must act now to help our declining British woodcock.
Between 2003 and 2013, the British woodcock population estimate fell by almost 30%. You can help us to understand why by supporting our new GPS tracking project.
£4,700 would cover the cost of buying, fitting and monitoring 10 woodcock for one year, allowing us to gather vital data on their breeding biology. This improved understanding could in turn inform guidelines for woodland management, ensuring woodlands are well-suited to the woodcock that depend on them.
This is a time sensitive project that must be done as soon as possible.
